​As of next year, Elbow frontman and lead singer Guy Garvey is going to be guest lecturing on their song writing course, and looks like he’s ready to train up the biggest and best new names in the music industry. Garvey will be the university’s visiting professor, and will be running masterclasses in everything from lyric writing to creative writing at the Manchester Writing School. 
 
As a man who has worked with and learned from icons like Sir Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Robert Plant, Garvey is likely to be an invaluable teacher for anyone interested in a career in the music industry, and one hell of a contact to make.
