why push?
|
A Push session is not a presentation. A Push session is an event by a team of professional performers. They moonlight as comedians, actors, writers (we even once had an opera producer) and are an inspirational, engaging, and highly entertaining bunch - with more variation in their educational and professional backgrounds than a bag of pick and mix. Their creativity and wider soft skills are fused with a framework on choices, careers and employability developed over 30 years by our founder and CEO Johnny Rich. We're holders of a National Careers Award for working with 14-19 year olds, and we're a powerful way to meet your DfE and OFSTED requirements on independent careers guidance, which should:
While excellent careers sessions can be run in-house, they don't meet all of these requirements. Push sessions are a fun, 'emotionally sticky' accompaniment to your school's internal CEIAG and outreach programme. Students and teachers often say a Push presenter ran one of the best sessions they have ever witnessed by an external provider, and that we're 100% worth paying for. We are a completely independent not-for-profit organisation, and guarantee the highest quality (when external providers are free, that is not always the case). We tap into young people's feelings via stories, and our tone is motivational and geared towards helping them imagine their future possible selves. We then build - through interactive exercises, memorable games, video and worksheets - to giving them information and advice to achieve it. Oh - and on top there's the fact we're a great way to tick those Gatsby Benchmarks.
We avoid any 'fire up and forget' approach to our outreach - by ensuring we send a link to all our wider online blogs, videos and monthly year 9-13 newsletter, so we can keep supporting the students we've engaged. We can also provide you, on request, with an impact report for our sessions, based on feedback we can get every student to do at the end of a session. This can be added into your report to OFSTED, as perfect evidence of the quality of your impartial careers education.
Additionally, Push can help you:
- Inspire and inform young people about the full range of education, training and employment opportunities available to all students
- Be provided in an impartial manner
- Promote the best interests of the student to whom it is given
- We help you meet the Government's Gatsby Benchmarks
