Learning Objectives
- Gain insight into the benefits of higher education through a comedy set.
- Develop an understanding of university life through panel-show style games.
Session Description
An interactive hour of comedy to engage attendees and create a buzz around higher education. The event is hosted by professional screenwriter Aron Tennet and performed by professional comedians: Lorna Shaw, Ibz Sesay and Moj Taylor. The session is centered around higher education choices and the path from school, through university to employment and the journey of personal development throughout. The first part of the event is comprised of short comedy sets performed by 2-3 comedians which relate to their own university experiences. Our presenters portray a diverse range of backgrounds who were all the ‘first in family’ to choose and navigate through university.
The second half of the session invites participants to take part in fun panel show styles games with a broader connection to university life. This includes ‘challenge the comedian’ games and a higher education themed quiz with forfeits that attendees get to vote for. Participants will get the chance to ask the performers questions about their respective higher education journeys: the struggles; rewards; reasons for their choices; employability skills and the attitude they developed.
