Learning Objectives
- Students get an understanding of what employability is.
- Students learn how to build their employability and the different components that employability is made up of.
- Students grasp how soft skills are important for 21st century employability and which aspects of life they develop these from.
Session Description
To even consider employability, a student must also consider their options and choices. What path to employability do they want to take? What skills must they acquire to become employable? With post-school pathways leading to different career paths, we can see how choices made whilst at school are tied in with future employability. Harnessing those motivations and aspirations means students can understand what they want, and exactly how to get it. We help students understand employability as something built up from multiple components, something we refer to as ‘roundness’. This session is popular and for good reason, with so many choices creating so many aspects of employability, students certainly benefit from advice on how to piece it all together into one journey!
