The University of Central Lancashire is spread out over three sites, roughly in the centre of – you guessed it – Lancashire, with the main campus huddled from the north-westerly draught, in Preston. There are two types of students (a lot are locals): the level-headed bookish types with a thirst for learning and their racier colleagues with a taste for life’s thrills, who tack learning on as an extra.
