The Push Schools Talks
You may by now have decided that Push.co.uk is the finest resource about universities and student life you could wish for. But if only it could be a little more, y’know, up close and personal. If only there was a way of bringing all the humour, insight and downright human attractiveness of Push to your door...
Well, the wildly successful Push schools’ talks have hit the road again. Push brings its fearless blend of banter and bulletproof fact to your assembly hall.
Don't take our word for how good it is – you might prefer to believe the Institute of Careers Guidance who gave us a National Careers Award (in the 14-19 Advice Category), citing the Push schools talks as a key reason.
Or you could trust other schools who've been at the receiving end:
“One of the most dynamic and interesting speakers we have ever had - the non-stop, high energy delivery left us inspired”, Hanley Castle School
“Much more suited to audience than teacher talks. The students really enjoyed it”, Hornsey School for Girls
“Please carry on!”, Bablake School.

What do the talks cover?
The main topic is usually 'What to think about when choosing a uni' and covers what's so good about uni, the application process, choosing a course, where to study, student life, finance, housing, social life, extra-curricular activities, welfare and where to find out more. There's normally time for questions too.
Having said that, there's a menu of talks to choose from:
• Choosing a uni
• Student money
• Why go to uni
• Personal statements
• Employability
• Selling yourself
• Wider options at 18
• Taking a gap year
• Uni advice for parents
• Mature students
• Careers advisors
• International students
Whichever you chose, we tailor talks to the individual school and can cover any area about studenty stuff that you like.
We’ll bring the show to whoever needs to know, whether a class or an entire year group (usual minimum size 30, no maximum). Most commonly, we talk to students in year 12 and/or 13, but we've talked to other years international students, parents, mature students, careers advisors – you name it. We're game. The talk is normally an hour, but we'll fit in with your timetable (minimum 30 minutes).
Push Talks are always popular (last year we visited nearly 200 schools and colleges), so if you’re interested, get in touch as soon as possible – dates at key times of the year always get booked up early.
What does it cost?
That depends on the type of talk, the type of school and whether we have sponsorship available. Full price talks start at £330 (+ VAT) for state-funded schools and £500 (+ VAT) for independent schools, however, we've teamed up with a number of sponsors, including the wonderful website
bestCourse4Me to offer a strictly limited number of free talks to schools who meet the target criteria. Please contact us for further information.
