Clearing is a mad dash to chase after courses that until the previous week hadn’t seemed sufficiently appealing to attract enough students.
So why, when the exam results are released, if things haven’t gone to plan, is clearing often the ‘go to’ option? For some people it works out fine, but it’s not without its risks. You can end up taking a course that may be very different to what you wanted to do, studying at uni you may know little about.
