Getting it right
Time for another check on the process of choosing a university:
- You’ve got a list of places that do the right course or courses.
- You’ve scratched out anywhere that’s way too ambitious to hope to get in, and anywhere that, as far as you’re concerned, doesn’t hit par academically for your chosen course(s).
- You’ve checked them out on the map and crossed off anywhere that’s too far, or where you don’t like the location for some other reason.
- You’ve also dumped anywhere likely to be too expensive for your budget.
So far it’s been a process of elimination.
Now you can try to put them in order of preference by comparing the individual details as they relate to atmosphere, costs, accommodation and every other part of your spell in studentdom.
The next few sections will take the lid off some of those other parts of student life and will tell you how to find out the reliable and independent detail you need to decide.
Throughout, you can keep going back to the University Chooser to help you to design your ideal university, to prioritise your shortlist and to find the closest match.
