London town, as she likes to be known, is actually a rather large city and the University of London is similarly proportioned. It’s made up of 19 colleges and ten Institutes, each with its own features and fortes. Ranging from small specialist colleges like the Courtauld Institute of Art, right up to massive institutions in the shape of UCL, the combined student population is so gigantic that London students account for one in ten of the country’s entire higher education population.
