International student calculator
There’s no getting away from it – international students, and their money, are big business for UK universities.
Any UK university is going to expect full fees from international students who study there. That’s not just the tuition fees charged to UK students, but a price based on the total cost of the course – anything from around seven thousand quid a year up to twenty five grand. Phew.
And it’s not only the fees that break the bank. There are other costs to think about too – like accommodation, travel and just plain living.
While plenty of students manage just fine, thanks very much, there are a still a hefty number who get to the UK only to find that they’ve underestimated the cost of living there.
To help international students manage the moolah, the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) and UNIAID, with the help of students from 13 different countries, have come up with an online International Student Calculator. This nifty wealth wizard shows you how much you can afford to spend once you’ve taken care of all the unavoidable expenses.
